Creative & Research Biography

I am currently developing a series of paintings about Korean culture. I have been living in Korea for some time now and have the incredible opportunity to learn about its culture and customs. I want to explore its traditional clothing, architecture, and food in a body of artwork.

In my academic research, I am exploring amounts of freedom students have in the art class. My research has revealed the philosophy of unschooling as well as democratic schools. These philosophies are in stark contrast to my own educational background which was mostly very structured. I plan on volunteering in Korean public schools and discovering their methods and use of freedom in the class.
