Artist Statement
Jeremy, an artist captivated by the human condition and the profound interplay of color, breathes life into his canvases predominantly through the expressive medium of oil paint. Specializing in figurative work, with a particular focus on oil painting portraits, he embarks on a visual journey that delves into the essence of existence. Drawing inspiration from the intricacies of the human experience, his artwork reflects a unique blend of influences from both his upbringing in Florida and his life in South Korea since 2009.
A graduate of the prestigious Ringling College of Art and Design, where he earned his BFA in illustration, Jeremy's artistic journey has been enriched by his continued pursuit of knowledge and self-discovery. In 2019, he achieved an MA in Art Education from the University of Florida, honing not only his technical skills but also deepening his appreciation for art's power to inspire and connect. With a passion for art's power to inspire and connect, Jeremy has participated in various group shows in the USA and South Korea, finding a receptive audience captivated by his expressive exploration of the human form.
In the realm of portraiture, Jeremy transcends the mere replication of appearances. As an artist who continues to evolve and explore, Jeremy's passion for color and the human condition, steeped in the influence of the impressionists and post-impressionists, remains at the core of his artistic vision.
